Survey involving video games and learning (for research paper)?

I am doing a research paper on how video games affect learning

Do you feel violent video games make kids violent?

Do you think that video games can be used in the classroom?

Do you think that kids views of games are changed if they know that the game is educational (regarless of how fun it is)?

any other thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated

thank you again

Survey involving video games and learning (for research paper)?
Do you feel violent video games make kids violent?

It certainly desensitizes them to violence, but I don't think a kid playing a violent video game would make them ACTUALLY perform any violent act that they would not do originally.

Do you think that video games can be used in the classroom?

Definately. They can be used to illustrate many different things and would hold the child's attention. An example is how school PE classes have started using Dance Dance Revolution to get the kids moving.

Do you think that kids views of games are changed if they know that the game is educational (regarless of how fun it is)?

Yes, I think it is better not to tell them. If they enjoy the game, they will learn from it anyway.
Reply:Video games have been proven to improve a persons cognitive ( motor ) abilities.

Do The Research Everyone - Los Angeles Veterans Administration Trial, Minnesota Survey, National Diet Heart ..

Go to a Medical University Library EVERYONE, and do the research yourselves and CONFIRM IT FOR YOURSELVES by looking up these 3 Randomized AND Double Blinded CLINICAL (NOT epidemiological confounder prone UNreliable nonsense , OR Prospective Trials) CLINICAL Dietary Intervention Trials that I printed for you. NAMELY,

*THE LOS ANGELES VETERANS ADMINISTRATION TRIAL,

*MINNESOTA SURVEY

*NATIONAL DIET HEART STUDY

There are ONLY 18 CLINICAL Trials to date that examined the use of dietary interventions for the prevention of Coronary Heart Disease, and NONE of them showed any reduction at all in Coronary Heart Disease mortality from using a saturated fat restricted diet.

********3 OF THESE 18 were not only CLINICAL Trials BUT they were also , RANDOMIZED AND DOUBLE BLINDED - This is the absolute GOLD STANDARD in scientific research.

NOW GO LOOK THOSE 3 UP!!!!!!!!

Anyone know of online survey sites or market research sites that really pay good cash for your opinions?

I have been making money on internet for 4 years and I was personally scammed by a good many making money methods. Finally,I found the most legitimate, effective and fast way for beginner to make money is doing paid surveys if you have a computer with Internet access and can sit at your computer for 1.5-3 hours per day.

But before joining a paid survey network, you should be sure that the paid survey company satisfies the following minimum requirements:

1. In business for at least 1 year.

2. Well organized, easy to navigate directories.

3. Directories updated at least weekly.

4. Helpful resources available for newcomers.

5. No "waiting period". Eligible immediately..

And more,more....

I understand it is difficult for a new online money maker to judge whether a paid survey site is good or not.So I found a survey club to help beginner make money on internet. You can visit http://www.**************** to find how to earn money easily and legally.Hope that help you.

Anyone know of online survey sites or market research sites that really pay good cash for your opinions?
I’m currently making $500 - $700.00 a month from each one of the sites below. Once you have signed up you can refer other friends and if they sign up you can make money off them 20% and if they refer people you can make 10% off those. I have just started so my income intake is not very high but hey it gives you few extra hundred a month for doing practically nothing. They send a check every 20 days. You need a minimum of $5.00 to get a check on cashcrate and $20.00 on treasure trooper. It's also free to sign up.

Reply:Depends on your definition of "really good cash." American Consumer Opinion often pays $5-15 for surveys. Esearch usually pays about $5. Opinion Outpost pays roughly $1-5 for their surveys.

it's a VERY VERY helpful forum where people discuss EVERY which way to make money online...legally anyway. There's a lot about mystery shopping, paid to read email, surveys, test products,etc...There's a thread where everyone leaves feedback and discusses the different paying sites they're members of. It helps when you see hundreds of people saying positive things about a site, especially when you're questioning it's...legit...ness(?)lol. i've found a couple of extra survey/trial sites that i've joined on there, and have gotten paid from them. If i were to recommend the best ones though, it'd DEFINITELY be

1.) Pinecone Research-after you look into making money online more, you'll see this one is one of the most sought after sites to join. It's the best, IMO. the ONLY catch it, you can't just sign up from their site...you have to find the elusive banner to join. (i googled it and found it pretty easily) but if you're accepted (and it's 100%free) you'll get your first survey soon and they pay $5.00 //survey you do...they pay after each one (they send them to you, you can't just do as many as you want :-( but you WILL get either a check or they pay via paypal as well (what i do) in less than 3 days after completely the survey. i dont think you'll ever hear anything bad or negative about this site (except that some people don't get accepted, sometimes they're looking for certain people)..but def.search for that one. you'll def. want to join a few other sites along with this one, since they decide how many surveys you get each month (it's just the easiest and fastest, so why not do it)

the next site i'd recommend it the first paying survey/trial site i joined (and worked)...i earn the most money on this one (probably because i'm a bit biased since it was my first one that i joined and got paid from)

http://www.treasuretrooper.com/228500

first off, make up a couple extra emails to use strictly for junkmail (i've never even checked the ones i made and use on there) i say a couple, because several of the surveys you take are from the same company so if you use different emails it'll approve faster (and i clear my cookies after each survey, and it helps more approve)

then all you do if enter your info and answer a bunch of those yes/no to free offers (usually youdont even have to go that far with it, just enter your info...or click NO or pass to everything)

I've been a member since February 14th this year, and i've made 168.00 so far (i've already gotten my first check) and that's just from doing free offers. if you refer friends/family you get 20% of what they earn and 5% of what THEIR referrals earn. great site, highly recommended. oh, they also have a forum there, with a proof of payment thread.

and another site i'm a member of and have gotten paid a bit from is

http://www.cash crate.com/index.php?ref=155478 (note:dont' put the "space" between "cash" and "crate".i couldnt post hte link i HAVE recieved my first check from them for $60.00, i don't get on there as much as treasure trooper (if idid i would obviously make more money)they also have a referal system %20 1st level referrals and %10 second level...after so many referrals you go up levels...%30 1st level and %20 second.

and last but not least is the site i spend the least time on (and i have gotten paid from them) but i've gotten paid the least (since i dont get on there much)

http://www.inboxdollars.com/?r=tiffany_a...

i've gotten paid $40 from them. same deal as the others, a little different withthe referal system though, you get $1 for every referal and i think it's $2 for every offer they complete. not sure on that part though, i know i've gotten paid though, lol. well, hope you enjoy venturing into the world of working online. it's addicting, i'm currently working on some new sites and building up my balance and seeing if they pay.

(NOTE: I haven't invested ONE penny in any of this)

i make almost $300 extra a month between all of those)
Reply:I carry out quite a few paid surveys each day, The money is not too bad at all. No one's going to get rich doing this but it helps me out loads at the end of each month and covers half my mortgage payments.

I had to quite a bit of searching about and got ripped off twice before I found this site :

Marijuana isnt bad for you. Its only illegal because Andrew W. Mellon

(head of treasury in 1930s) was having his multibillion industry threatened(due to hemp being better than oil and many other expensive items), so he appointed his nefew, harry anslinger as head of dangerous drugs and narcotics, secret meetings were held to try to find a way to make one of THE worlds best resources out of the way. Eventually the made a movie called "reefer madness"(look it up on google video[not on youtube]). All it did was tell lies to trick the naive americans into teahing thier children not to, and so on. America has been suffering eversince. in the 1920s it was predicted that all car fuil would be run an hemp, but those greedy bastards had to go and screw up everything for america. if you realy care go to norml.org (gives many facts of benifits of marijuana + pro-legalization of marijuana)

The difference between "dog people" and "cat people"....survey for a research paper....?

theory:

People that prefer dogs to cats are more outgoing, friendly, and social (wanting and needing to meet new people and make new friends). Where as, people whom prefer cats stay in a tighter (closer) circle of friends, more introverted, and not as social.

please! let me know. i need as many opinions as i can get!!!! to write this paper!!!

*thanks for your opinion (in advance!)

The difference between "dog people" and "cat people"....survey for a research paper....?
I'm a cat person simply because I like the fact that they are low maintenance.

Dogs require walking, brushing, more expense for food and vet care, being taken outside to use the bathroom, cleaning the yard, etc.

Cats on the other hand are happy to play with anything, require less food, cost little to keep, and use a litter box. They can also be left alone for extended periods if an ample supply of food and water is provided. Dogs require someone to let them outside.

Simply stated, having cats is more convenient, much less hassle. When you have kids, that's important.
Reply:This is what your studying? Millions of people own both cats and dogs so how could anyone play god on this? Guess I wouldn't be much help to you because until my last cat died we always had both.

Why are they having people put other people in catagories.....what is the agenda?
Reply:I'm a cat and dog person. When I'm with my dog we like to go out and play. When I'm with my cat I like to sleep and watch tv. It's like I have different moods that fit in with thier behavior. Sometimes I want to just have loads of fun and meet new people. Other times I just don't feel like doing anything.

Cats, from what I've seen, like to play sometimes, but they often just want to be left alone to do thier own thing. If your watching tv they go lay with you but only if they want to. Dogs are always for strangers, where as cats tend to run and hide. Dogs like to run around and have way more energy than dogs.

*Exception kittens they are very similar to dogs in thier social behavior.
Reply:I was a cat person for a very long time, but about 5 years ago my brother had to give away his Chihuahua so i took him in and my roommates dog a Australian Shepard mated with my dog Pete. We ended up with the cutest puppies and we ended up keeping two. So now i am a dog and cat person. I love my dogs and love spending time with them, but like the earlier answer it depends on my mood. When i want to just watch TV and be lazy my cats hang out. if i hang in bed though i am surrounded by both dogs and cats. When we go for hikes and to parks we take the dogs. So i too hang out with all my animals it just depends on my mood at the time.
Reply:This theory may be somewhat true, Though I do like both cats and dogs, I probably lean more towards cats. as they dont have as many "needs" as dogs do. I have had both as pets throughout my life, but In my life now I just have a cat, cause hes quiet, and can be freindly, but would just as soon be on his own somewhere in the house. And as you said, I am kind of a homebody, and dont need a lot of freinds, or social activity. I mean, I do like to go out and do things, with freinds, or alone, but I am really happiest to go home after work, and kick it in my santuary, have a beer, or a glass of wine, and relax. Or go camping out away from everyone. I enjoy a dogs company when I'm doing outdoor things, they are fun to just watch, and they will bring cheer to my campsite. But I would rather a freind brought their dog, than to have to have my own. As I said, I like dogs, but they just require too much attention, and get themselves into trouble all the time, for my liking. I also like self sufficient people, over needy ones. I've got enough things to do already, without haveing to take extra time to take care of someone elses problems that they get themselves into. People who want to spend some quiet, peaceful times, and can entertain themselves, as well as animals like this, are better for me.
Reply:That rings true for me, for what that's worth. Solidly cat person, very introverted and not wanting to be super popular. Thanks for asking.
Reply:If your hypothesis is correct, it could certainly shed light on my own behavior. You see, I adore dogs AND cats; I don't prefer one over the other. (I have two cats and no dogs right now, primarily because I'd really be pushing my landlords' "No Pets Allowed" Policy if I had a dog, too. (The manager is cool with my feline friends, but I stand to be evicted if the owners find out.) However, I plan on adopting a dog very soon after I move later this year.) That said, I certainly have social needs and can be quite friendly and outgoing, but I also have a very active inner life, one of philosophical playfulness and serious introspection. I recognize the value of both aspects, inner and outer relationships, in terms of achieving balance in my life.

I hope that helps.

Good luck with your research!

P.S. I should add that one of my cats is very feline-like; she's on the aloof side and everything from feeding time to snuggle time is according to her agenda only. My other cat is very canine-like; she's loyal, playful, "talkative," and just plain goofy. Does that make a difference? If you have a cat that acts more like a dog and/or vice versa?
Reply:Hate to burst your theory bubble but I do not walk my dog to meet people and to make friends would be a lost cause! Even if I liked someone, if their dog is female they may not welcome my testosterone-fuelled dog's attentions, and if their dog is male and small, it will usually bark fiercely at my dog who will respond louder and more ferociously.

Owners of goody-goody dogs who look across road at "the noise" and carry on, snoot in air followed by po-faced owner, snoot in air, are not people I want to know as they have the same effect as people in supermarkets who look at you as if you were an alien (which incidentally I was in USA for 10 years!! but where people were more tolerant) when your toddler is making a big scene. Please please slip on a banana skin (couldn't resist) or cowpat depending where you are and land in the rotten egg section or cowpat section where, if there is a god after all, you all deserve to lie.

Point is - dog chases away people and visitors to house love our cat, but I know what you're trying to say.
Reply:I'm not fussy for dogs, but I love cats. I am also out going, friendly, and very social. However, I also have a very close-knit group of friends.

For every generality, there is always a group of people that blows the thesis out of the water! Maybe you should also include why someone would choose one pet over the other if they have no decided preference. Cats are a lot lower maintenance than dogs... you don't have to walk them, their vet bills are not as steep... they do not require as much social interaction as dogs do...

Best Wishes... hope that helped!
Reply:I'd agree with your theory. I am a cat person, and although I also own and love 2 dogs, I can relate much better to my 2 cats.

They are independent but loveable, affectionate, groom themselves and don't 'smell'. And they are QUIET. And loyal.

I also find you can't trust a person that dislikes cats! LOL Just seems that way, no idea why that is...

Survey for college research paper -- Please help by answering!!!?

What is the first thought that comes to mind when you think of the phrase "Needle Exchange Program"?

What do you believe Needle Exchanges do besides exchange contaminated syringes for sterile ones?

Do you think needle exchange programs are helpful in fighting HIV/AIDS?".

Survey for college research paper -- Please help by answering!!!?
I think it is a good idea. There are some behaviors that will never be eradicated just by the general population or our government telling us that it is not acceptable. Sex, drugs, alcohol and smoking are all dangerous behaviors practiced by many people in our country and we take steps to protect ourselves in anyway we can... examples- hand out condoms to prostitutes and low income people to prevent pregnancy and STD's, warning labels on cigarette packages, warnings on bottles and limits to the amount of alcohol we can consume and still drive. Not everyone takes the advice or advantage of the preventative measures to protect ourselves but there are enough that do that save lives. If we chose to ignore the fact that a large amount of the new HIV/AIDS cases are drug users just because it is an illegal activity we are not going to fix the problem. People will not quit drugs until they are ready or forced to. There are also intervenous drug users who do not "look" to be the type to do drugs so they could be sharing needles with their fellow drug users and then sleeping with people and spreading the disease and everyone would be shocked because they seemed to look "clean". I think the people that they are doing the exchanges with would be made more aware of the risks they are taking and who knows... maybe it will raise the awareness of the risks of sharing needles (if not the actual drug use itself)

5) i don't read a lot of books or newspapers but i read a lot of things off the computer. i would say my reading is recreational. i think i read internet pages more then any other form. i read for class too tho.

6) I think television impacts reading the most. people are bored and they sit infront of the television. they don't go read a book. I think the internet is making the newspaper obsolete.

How do I write a sociology research paper?

My Sociology teacher spent all day trying to make sure everyone understood how to write a research paper. I somehow didn't get the whole idea down. He explained 4 different kinds of methods including: Library research, Case Study, Random sample survey, and experiment. The methodology sections were different for each of the choices. I need some good references into finding out exactly how they work.

What is "home" for an American? Are there any research or surveys on the topic?

What is American attitude to spending time at HOME? Are there any holidays most of Americans prefer to celebrate at home? Where do all members of a family gather more often? Are there any research or surveys on the topic (sth like " an average American family" and "American attitude to HOME")?

What is "home" for an American? Are there any research or surveys on the topic?
Home is in the home with the family. Sometimes, if a person has been traveling a lot, it is just being in their home state, but really home is the house. For me at least, my home and family is a centeral part of my life. I spend most of my time with the people who live at my home, my family, and I love them more than any body else. Most christian families have this same outlook, but I can not speak for the atheists or people with no religious preferance, home life is often very different for them. If the only experience that you have of Americans and their home lives if from movies, don't believe a bit of it. It is not that way for most people, and I live in southern california and can still say this. The movies need drama and they will get it from where ever they can. So my point is, that home is generally, for the average middle class Americans (of which there are many) a very important place.

Holidays which are usually and traditionally celebrated at home are thanksgiving (although family from all over the country will often fly to one relative's house for this celebration) and christmas. Easter is as well, but it is not as large as these two for families. I hope this has helped.
Reply:"Home" is where the heart is; it's where i grew up at my dad's house. My wife %26amp; i go there for Holidays (Christmas especially); and then we drive across the state to her "home" (her mom's house).

Short survey for college research paper. ANYONE INTERESTED?
How do you define cheating? - Any interest that is beyond friendship. This is includes anything physical (kissing and beyond) as well as emotional. If my partner feels the need to hide the relationship (no matter how innocent) I would be suspicious. If he's seeking out people online to have relationships with I would assume he's missing something in our relationship is and seeking it out in others. I'd probably consider this cheating. Emotional cheating is worse than physical.

Have I ever been cheated on? No

Have I ever cheated? No

The remaining questions are not applicable to me.

Survey on Manga for Eng. 102 Research Paper?

I’m writing a research paper on manga for my English 102 class. I’m focusing on the elements of literature in manga; things like themes, plot, characters etc. I want to possibly include demographics about people read manga, and why they find it so interesting.

I devised this survey to help me get a good look at some important aspects. All of the information is relevant, so please fill this out to the best of your ability. The age and sex questions are optional, because I know some people don’t like to give out that info on the net. However, those questions are important and I do need some answers.

Remember, this is a survey about manga reading habits, and not about anime! Thanks!

Age (op.)?

Sex (op.)?

When did you first start reading manga?

Were you introduced to anime or manga first?

How often do you read manga?

Do you prefer shonen, or shojo?

What is your preferred genre (action, drama, comedy, etc.)?

What is your favorite manga series?

Survey on Manga for Eng. 102 Research Paper?
Age (op.)? 34

Sex (op.)? F

When did you first start reading manga? about 7 years ago

Were you introduced to anime or manga first? anime

How often do you read manga? daily (seriously)

Do you prefer shonen, or shojo? shounen, i suppose, but there are more narrow genres I like as well.

What is your preferred genre (action, drama, comedy, etc.)? all of the ones listed. it solely depends on the character representation, the art style, the storyline, etc.

What is your favorite manga series? The Wallflower, Death Note

Do you think of manga as a form of literature? Y - Its not "just for kids" and often the manga have a distinct adult content or intricate storyline not intended for younger viewers. Many manga are thought provoking, deal with either the everyday or the fantasy world, and give a visual aspect to the written word you won't find in standard novels. Basically, manga leans more toward the "illustrated novel" (thus graphic novel term) ideal than the "comic book" side. Basically, it is both, but depending on what the artist and writer want to convey to the intended audience will more decide on whether or not the manga takes on a more novel or comic aspect. Keep in mind, in Japan manga is sold pretty much everywhere, even in roadside magazine stalls. They have the manga for young children, teens and adults, and it is common to see people of all ages reading them.

Do you read/buy manga in the bookstore, or do you read/download it on the internet? I mostly buy them as it is a hobby of mine. But I do read manga scanlations online that haven't been released in the mainstream US market yet.

Good luck with your survey!

1) I started first reading manga about 2 years ago.

2) I first was introduced to anime (naruto) and then I read the manga

3) Everyday and quite long (a few hours)

4) I prefer shounen and seinen

5) Action, Comedy and Mystery

6) Black cat (shounen), Ouran High Host Club(shoujo) and XxXHolic (shounen)

7) No, rather as an art-form or alternative story-telling. Literature is something that has to be completely written, non semi-drawn.

8) I read it online because I live in europe where most manga have not been translated and are not being sold.

About 3) allow to explain myself. I want to go professional some day and I'm checking out how other artists work. So my time during the day is split between school, manga, drawing and anime. I don't do anything else.

~ I started reading manga first in seventh grade. That's... about 11 years of age.

~ I had definitely seen a few Sailor Moon episodes as a child, but I was never serious about it. Manga was the first Japanese media that I started being interested in.

~ I read manga rather sporadically, but definitely five to six times a month. At least. ^^;

~ My favorite shows are mostly shounen (it's spelled shounen and shoujo with "u"s, making the sound longer. ^^), but I tend to read more shoujo. For me, shounen is either really good, or really bad, while shoujo tends to be more consistently upper-mediocre. I know that's not much of an answer, but glean from it what you will.

~ My preferred genre is psychological.

~ My favorite manga series is Claymore, with a close second/third of Death Note and Hikaru no Go.

Optional:

~ I think of manga as a form of literature. The real art is not in the drawings, but the way that the stories twist and turn, which I think is characteristic of manga. It just happens to have pretty pictures. XD

~ For the most part, I download my manga, but if I'm a big fan (or I get a good deal -- what can I say, it's expensive), and if it's published in English, I will buy the tankouban to support the mangaka.

Hope that helped, and good luck on your paper~!

Which was I introduced to first: Anime (since it was on tv)

Shounen or Shoujo: Eh both are about the same. I usually just read seinen

Prefered genre: comedy, drama, slice of life, action, romance. Yeah, I'm all over the place.

Favorite Manga: At the moment, Vinland Saga (historical, action, seinen).

Is manga a form of literature: What definition of "literature" are you using? In the broadest form, certainly manga is a form of literature- but if we are talking about literature in the sense of those that have a large amount of literary merit (such as the works as T.S. Eliot) then certainly, we can't say ALL manga is literature- although there may be an arguement that SOME are. Since I'm not sure exactly which definition you are going with (one of those two, or somewhere in between), I'll just give you my general views on manga- and you should be able to interpret the answer you are looking for.

To start off with manga is merely a medium- in the same way that a book is a medium. Because of this, there are many, many different types of manga. There are simple 4-koma manga (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4_koma ) which are similar to comic strips. There are immensley popular manga similar to something like Harry Potter, where the technical work is just average but it somehow mangaged to capture whole masses of people. There are manga that are rich in mythology, symbolism, meaning, history, philosophy, and pretty much everything else.

Do you read/buy manga in the bookstore, or do you read/download it on the internet?: I usally do both. If it is an ongoing series, and hasn't been brought over to the US yet and people have sparked my interest in it- then I will get it and read it online. If it is something that is already over here, I will likely read it in a bookstore/library or purchase it.

- Shinshi Doumei Cross (The Gentlemen's Alliance) [http://myanimelist.net/manga.php?id=37 ]

- Yes, since there's a plot (excluding slice of life I guess), characters etc. that are present in novels.

- Depends on the series. If it's not licensed but is scanlated by scanlation groups, I'd download. If it's licensed I'd try to get the actual physical object, since well I already spend too much time staring at my computer monitor and plus for that feeling of holding it in your hands you know.

In order to be valid, the respondents must be drawn from a random sample. Having people volunteer to be part of the study removes all validity from the results.

Survey for legal research?

Some people believe that Americans bring too many cases to court. Others believe that in spite of this perception, many Americans suffer with disputes because they do not have access to courts. Based on your evaluation of a variety of sources that you regularly read, view or hear, what is your opinion?

Survey for legal research?
Courts have provisions for frivolous suits. They can dismiss them early on and even give sanctions to parties that file frivolous lawsuits. Less than 5% of all cases ever make it to trial. They are either settled, or dismissed for various reasons. I think that if someone has a valid legal issue, then they deserve their full and fair opportunity to litigate. They have to pay filing fees and court costs so it is not like they are doing it all on taxpayer's dime. However, if the courts are really bogged down, they could make more strict guidelines on filing frivolous suits.
Reply:My opinion is that there are indeed too many frivolous law suits in our court system.
Reply:If you have a valid complaint and wish to pursue it, there are plenty of avenues.
Reply:The courts are overwhelmed with frivolous cases and cases that should be brought to court aren't because of the high cost of legal fees!
Reply:I think there are too many civil suits filed in the United States.

I did the survey thingy and I'm for genetically engineered foods, but more of a promoter of the advertisement of how prevalent their in our world today.

Many people scare easily when the T.V. talks of salmonella and E.Colli etc. but the important thing is that fast foods are many times more dangerous.
Reply:Done :)
Reply:Certainly. This is a very important topic.

There have been NO STUDIES done with humans to show what happens when genetically modified foods are consumed. The FDA has ASSUMED that these modified foods are equivalent to the original foods and does not require any studies to have them approved, despite the fact that this technology has never before existed in the history of the world.

This is especially troubling in light of the United State’s federal track record on genetically engineered safety, which is terrible.

Once again, people are being used as Guinea pigs... why? Very simple to answer... to increase their profit.

I'm doing a research paper on Diabetes and life expectancy. At what age did you lose someone to diabetes?

I lost my older sister at 28 to congestive heart failure from diabetic complications. I know that most diabetics have a shorter life expectancy but need real results from a survey for the research paper.

I'm doing a research paper on Diabetes and life expectancy. At what age did you lose someone to diabetes?
i work in a nursing home and a lot of the people there is diabetic and they are from 70 to 90 yrs young so you can live along time with it just take care of yourself by keeping a close eye on it watch what you eat low sugar is as bad as high you can die from either one
Reply:I lost my husband to Diabetes. He was 35. He also was Hispanic and it tends to threaten the Hispanic and Black cultures the worst. He went into a Diabetic coma and then eventually had heart failure. Good luck with your paper, it is something that needs to be addressed in a big way.
Reply:Although I am a fourth generation diabetic, there is no one outside that straight line who is/was diabetic as far as I know. My great grandmother died in her sixties shortly after I was born, so I never got to meet her. My grandmother recently died in her eighties. She took pretty good care of hers, but had other problems as well. My biological father (age 65) probably won't last a great deal longer as he refused for many years to take care of his and also has other problems. His diabetes is now being tightly controlled, but he's bedridden in a nursing home.
Reply:even better! you want me to give up and die sooner------you are sick
Reply:Been diabetic for 5years not gone yet
Reply:i lost ma grandmother she was 60 *died in her sleep*, and a couple of years ago i lost my aunt she was 39 *kidney failure*
Reply:my best friend died in a diabetic coma at age 32

she almost died three years earlier in a similar coma when

on her doctors advice her mother had the feeding tubes /life support removed. even after losing a foot she was a productve person leading a nearly normal life.

How can I get people to participate in my survey?

I am really stressing right now. I need more 29 responses for my survey. It's for a Research Methods course. How can I get more people to participate in my survey? It's a survey about Affirmative Action. Would any of you be interested in taking a survey? If so, can I have your e-mail address?

How can I get people to participate in my survey?
potomacbarrels@yahoo.com
Reply:Well you could ask for permission to set up a table in front of a grocery store and explain your survey to them and see if they would allow it.

You could ask users of Yahoo Answers if they would be interested. What I would be concerned with is not having my email address spread to other people.

So send a mass email to users of Yahoo that allow email ask them if they would be interested be sure to explain in each message what the survey is for and what its about (copy and paste the same msg in every email) and your sure to get enough people soon enough.

Best of luck to ya.
Reply:You can send it using the Yahoo Answers email function. You will have to accept replies back, though, if you want people to return it.
Reply:Well, back when I took a similar course we did three things. One, everyone in the class acted as guinea pigs for everyone else. Two, our psych department offered bonus points for people who took part in research projects. Three, we just asked complete strangers a la Unicef and Amnesty International volunteers on the street. Failing those you can also set up your survey on a free online site and get people to fill it out that way.

Survey: How could someone claim to research the real you with only your Y!A profile info?

I think they are smoking something funny and it makes me sad. Sad that they did not offer to share with me.

poll: Mad Dog 20/20 or Thunderbird wine?

Survey: How could someone claim to research the real you with only your Y!A profile info?
People don't have to be smoking something funny to claim to be able to research "the real you" if they have "clout".. (no, not a disease). Your pic is plastered on your 360 and I don't think it would be very hard to find someone like You in such a small place like Chicago, with a name like "Cliff Hanger"..(lmao)

Would You like to share a bottle of Annie Greensprings?
Reply:I couldn't care less if they did or not...and I would love to have that much free time on my hands %26amp; the energy to insanely care to do something like that...grab the Mad Dog!

:)
Reply:They can't...and don't they know the rules? It's "puff puff give! puff puff give!"

Oh, I'll just have some water.
Reply:Mad Dog 20/20, if I can't smoke...
Reply:No thanks people get *scared, when I drink.

Hey! there Honey :)
Reply:Got to go with the mad dog because if I run out I know BUK will always have some in his pocket...I check out your profile and now I know every thing about...Think I will do some black mailing...Love, honey
Reply:I think they might be able to get an idea of who you are by your Q %26amp; A's, but there's no way they could know the real you just by the profile info.

I'm thinking that Mad Dog is the way to go.
Reply:What aren't you telling us Moe? Here I thought I knew everything there was to know about my favorite Stooge... common...I'm ready to google...

I don't drink that cheap crap! hehehe!
Reply:Wonder just input the name "Moe" into my super-duper deluxe computer, and here is what I just found out about you:

Male, age 44 yrs. old

Single, owns 3 dogs

Lives in Canada

Great sense of humor

Beer and chicken wings lover

Happy-go-lucky, fun loving personality

and .....

Owns a blow-up doll named Miss Lola Follana
Reply:What's the Word?....Thunderbird!!

I don't know. I've read rantings where people claim to be able to track down other people on Answers and 360. People take this way too serious.
Reply:They cannot find the real you thru your profile as that is only 1/10 who we are it's ' just a snack.Thunderbird or what they call it in the hood Thunderchicken lol
Reply:I don't drink.

(( Udontnome )) you don't know me either.

Why do I scare you?

I don't like to do that to anyone I don't want to be scary.

So haha if you joke %26amp; I'm sorry if your not block me please!
