I'm doing a research paper about what reasons different people of different ages have for listen to music. Does it relax you? Does it remind you of something? Does it put you in a better mood?

-Alternative, and it extends from there (alternative pop, alternative rock)


-Makes me calm. Well, actually, I guess it's because it makes feel like someone out there feels the same way I do when the artist wrote the song. I'm always noticing that I isolate myself from everyone else, and I don't know why. Music helps me realize things and feelings put into words I couldn't have put myself. I don't know if it puts me in a better mood, but it helps me lose concentration on things I should be concentrating on, and I'm grateful for that.

Reply:I'm 30. I work in a garage. I like top 40 hits. I like having my own personal sound track. I seem to get more done around the house and working out if I have some jams to motivate me.
Reply:I listen to music to either alter or enhance the particular mood I'm in, or to help attain the frame of mind I desire at that moment. I also listen to music to bring back and help recall past memories. I also use music as a tool to study for a test. Group studies have indicated that people who listen to symphony orchestra music before and during studying, improve their memory and concentration, as a result their overall test scores are higher than their average counterparts who listened to other types of music or none at all. Most of all I listen to music because it makes me feel good, I am a very good singer, and I LOVE to DANCE. Music is Life.
