School project survey, about stem cell research?

If yes then here:

1. Do you no what stem cells are? If yes, briefly explain just to make sure ur not lying.

2. Do you no what we use these stem cells for, like y take them out?

3. Do you support stem cell research (yes/no/kinda)?

* plz put ur AGE, or ur age range if u don't want ppl to no ur old jk

School project survey, about stem cell research?
(1.)

- Relatively undifferentiated cells that can develop into different types of cells in the human body.

- When a stem cells divide, each daughter call has the potential to either remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a more specialised function. Split into 2 types

a) Adult stem cells

- Found in small numbers in tissue or organs and specific areas of tissue usually remain non-dividing until they are activated by disease or tissue injury.

b) Embryonic stem cells

- Found in the inner cell mass of the blastocyst.

- Can develop into all tissues of the embryo except the gametes.

- Has greater development potential than adult stem cell.

(2.)

- Genetically identical to the host, the problem of tissue and organ rejection can be avoided.

- Making cells and tissues for medical therapies.

- The number of people needing a transplant far exceeds the number of organs available for transplantation.

- Embryonic stem cells offer the possibility of a renewable resource of replacement cells and tissues to treat diseases.

- A better understanding of normal cell development allow scientists to understand and rectify the errors that cause cancer and birth defects.

(3.)

Yes indeed.
