Conducting a research survey. Please answer the following question. Serious anwers only please.?

The passengers on board the Titanic were placed on the ship according to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class. You see many things wrong with this "class system" and write a letter to the editor of a major newspaper complaining about this. What would you say about the "injustices" of this class system.

Please try to make your answer at least 10 sentences long. If you don't want your results to be factored into a current study, then do not leave a comment. Please do not leave your name, if avoidable.

Sorry, but I see nothing wrong with this "class" system. It was not based on a person's nationality, race, gender, age, etc. No one was discriminated against Rather it was based on how much they paid for their ticket. Those who paid large amounts got more benefits. Those who paid a small amount got fewer benefits. That is only fair. They got what they paid for is all.
Reply:I don't know if you are trying to make more of this than what it is. The above answers are absolutely correct. It is a "quid-pro-quo" and that is all. If you are trying to make it into "classes" based on race, religion...ect., it does NOT apply in this case.

Now, there ARE lifeboats for everyone regardless of price paid. If you do classify people based on race, religion..ect, then whomever is doing so is just proving their ignorance. The moment that you display prejudice...You lose and prove yourself ignorant.

This is proven in everyday life.....For those who have their eyes open....
Reply:exactly. you get what you pay for
Reply:i do not think anything is wrong with the class system for buying tickets and getting the "extras" that you pay for. however... life boats, jackets and rescuing are NOT "extras" every life should have had the same value, and i'm not talking money here. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class passengers should have had an equal opportunity, and right to be saved.
Reply:Not sure this says anything about the "class system", but it sure does say a lot about how much you paid for your ticket. If you want to be in first class, buy a first class ticket.

This would be a more meaningful question if everyone paid the same amount for their tickets but were then arbitrarily assigned to 1st class, etc simply on their appearance or skin color.
Reply:I'm of the same opinion as dewcoons. We have 1st / 2nd / 3rd class rail fares, air fares, concert tickets etc. normal and if I choose 3rd class I save money...
