If you put on your turn signal, you are asking for trouble, people get really cut throat, that's why I don't use mine.

i use mine when turning, but NEVER when merging...that's just begging some a­ssshole to close the gap

Reply:Ahh people that don't use their turn signals are so annoying. Seriously whenever I see someone fail to use their turn signal I wonder why they are so stupid, and if they were dropped on their heads as babies. If you aren't using your turn signal, then you don't know how to drive, and shouldn't be on the road.

Reply:When I signal, I'm not asking permission. I'm giving fair warning. The old Dodge is about to be all up in yo kitchen. You make your adjustments accordingly.

Reply:When changing lanes, P/people tend to speed up if You are trying to get into T/their lane. So yeah i agree with You...

Reply:I know what you are saying is true in certain areas, I used to live in Houston where road rage is common and people wave at each other all the time but they don't use all of their fingers. One ought to be awarded combat ribbons for driving in Houston traffic. Even so, I tried to use my turn signal as much as possible to reduce the chances of an accident. The one time I NEVER used turn signals was if I wanted to change lanes. As soon as you turn them on, some jackass would speed up and close the opening that you wanted to move into. No reason, just part of the road rage mindset.

Reply:They are to show your' intent to turn or change lanes to someone behind you or other traffic,,most will appreciate it but there are some who will try to close up or get around you,,just shows their immaturity..Besides all states have traffic law that requires you to signal when you plan to turn or change lanes of travel...Try not signaling when the police are behind you and see what happens.....

Reply:Well where I live, if you don't use them, you'll get ticketed. So it's better to use them than get ticketed in my opinion. And no one around here complains if you use them. I tend to get p.o'd if you don't, because it's rude.

Reply:Not at all. They're a basic form of safety. Of course, we should never assume another driver sees them. However, it's one of the simplest safety measures you can perform while driving by informing others of your intentions.

Reply:When you take a driving test, in the UK, and probably in America, the use of signals on the car are a requirement so they must be of real importance. If on a test you do not use them then you fail. So why stop using them once you have passed a test.


These signals are for all other road users in front, behind and to the side. This includes other cars and motors, cyclists and pedestrians. Give signals and any doubt as to your intentions are removed.

Reply:No they're not. Turn signals are for RESPOSIBLE drivers who, having taken they're test will KNOW that it's a legal requirement to let OTHER road users know what you're about to do. For all the blatantly right reasons.
