Research Survey: How long do you shower?

I'm conducting this survey for my English Final Exam on Saturday.

I need to know:

1. How long do you take in the shower?

2. How long do you take if shaving?*

3. Would you be willing to install a "push button shower" to

limit your water consumption?

*This applies to males who shave in the shower as well.

A push button shower has a time release faucet that lets water flow through for 15-20 sec. You can push the button; get wet; lather up, shampoo hair, or shave; and then push the button again to rinse off.

Thank you very much for your time.

Research Survey: How long do you shower?
I take long showers. It's one of my favorite times of day. I spend approx. 10-15 minutes in there. This includes shaving my pits and calves every time. I would never be willing to install a push button shower. (I cant stand them when camping.) The push button would interfere with the peace I enjoy while showering. Good luck on your paper! I'm giving you a star because I'm curious to see everyone else's responses!
Reply:i take long showers in the morning about 15-20 i would like to take longer but i got to go to work but when i was in dys they made us take 3 min showers and it was enough time to wash myself thoroughly i like the idea of a adjustable 3-5 min button for kids parents can allow to press once or twice and shower can't shut off until the time runs out
Reply:1. 25-30 minutes. (Including, hair treatments, since my hair is horribly dry %26amp; thick)

2. 25-30 minutes.

3. No, because I would get too cold, in between button presses.

:D

(In response to your added info: no I would STILL not get one because I find the constant hot water too relaxing.)

good luck!
Reply:1*) 20- 25 minutes its my favorite thing ..

2: 15 minutes

3: no way.
Reply:1-2) My usual shower is usually under 10 minutes, maybe 2-3 minutes shaving, 1-2 minutes washing my hair and body, then rinsing off.

3) No I wouldn't want to install a push button shower although for some people it may be really practical, not for me :)

My husband...

1-2) Shower is usually 25-30 minutes, 5-10 minutes shaving

3) NO WAY I love the heat of the shower, it's how I wake up in the morning!

Hope this answers your survey!

Reply:Here in Brisbane, Australia we are running out of water and are on severe water restrictions. We are encouraged to spend less than 4 mins each in the shower per day. My missus and I shower together so we effectively get 8mins which is enough time for me to shave. Its tough to wash and condition hair, shower and shave in 4 mins though.

We do have exceptionally low water usage in our house already and I would not want a push button shower. We have 5 kids and the shower water is the only thing which gives us blessed relief from the noise!

BTW we use less than 600 litres of water per day and we have a family of 7. If you use (on average) over 700litres per day for a household the government here asks you to explain and if you do it again they fine you. Its serious stuff.

Its amazing to read about you guys taking 25min showers -

Just so you know this is a city of 1.8 million people (3rd largest in the country) and we will run out (I'm serious - a major city with NO drinking water)of water by the end of 2008 unless the drought breaks and we get real rain, or the government's emergency pipeline makes it to the dam. Did anyone see this coming in the last 10 years when they could have done something about it? Apparently not...No worries mate...
Reply:If in a normal shower, about 10 to 12 minutes. If I'm shaving, about 15 minutes. For water saving purposes, yes, but I have long hair and it takes about five minutes to get all the soap out so it would be impractical for me to get that.
