How would a director of market research at a dept. store conduckt a survey for working women who go shopping?

the director of marketing research at a large dept. store chain wanted to conduct a survey throughout the metropolitan area to determine the amount of time working women spend shopping for clothes in a typical month

How would a director of market research at a dept. store conduckt a survey for working women who go shopping?
First design your survey. Include all the information you want to know and make it look inviting not invasive. What reason would the want to complete your survey? Will the receive a coupon, discount, etc? You will get a better response offering them something in return. Make giving their name and address, etc optional. If they feel they have to give that info, they may not participate. Then go to where the working women are-at work, schools, and shopping. GOOD luck
Reply:first of all, you have to determine your customer which would normally depends on age factor. after this you can decided which kind of women you are targeting- rich, professionals, celebrities.etc.

after this you have to set up the questionnaire which would be better,if you consult your staff as well better would be a brainstorming session. normally you write down about 220-25 questions wich are then squeezed to 12-15.

To make women fill the questionnaire you can always set up lucky draws, give discount coupons etc.
Reply:My wife has been to several PAID locations where they ask woman what their shopping habits. The initial contact was by post card or phone with a meeting in the evening at some conference room.

She said that once the basic Q %26amp; A was over there were several people that stuck around and formed some sort of on the spot meeting where they talked freely and that is what the original intention was. I think she got a gift and was paid something like $50.00 for the time.
